Across Borders and into the Wild: Chobe River & National Park Safari
Across Borders and Into the Wild: Chobe River & National Park Safari
"Group photo at Victoria Falls with rainbows and smiles on Together we Breathe's Wellbeing and Safari Retreat."
Onward for the next part of our journey, we crossed the border into Botswana another stamp in the passport (which I always love!) and made our way to the Chobe River for an unforgettable boat cruise.
Cruising the Chobe River, Hundreds of Elephants and Wildlife Everywhere
It was a stunning day spent cruising up the Chobe River into Chobe National Park. Our expert guide shared stories about the animals, their habits and habitats, and helped us spot incredible wildlife.
Botswana is home to more elephants than anywhere else in the world, over 110,000 and around 60,000 of those live in Chobe. We saw hundreds of elephants that day, gathered together in herds and family groups, with babies trailing close by. It was a spectacular sight, and so different from my last visit.
We also spotted pods of hippos, giant crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks, and a dazzling array of birds some I’d never seen before. It was another magical day, rich with life and colour, and a reminder of why a safari in Botswana is such a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Camping Under the Stars in Chobe National Park
After our river safari, we headed to our new home for the night: a camp set up deep inside Chobe National Park. The team had prepared everything, cosy tents equipped with everything we needed, and even a warm, hearty feast to enjoy by the fire.
That evening, we sat around the campfire sharing stories, learning more about local culture, animals, and connecting with the wonderful team from Munga Plains. It was another special night, the kind of evening that makes you feel both humbled by nature and nourished by community.
As we drifted off to sleep, we couldn’t help but wonder what animals might be roaming nearby. And yet, we felt safe, protected, and energised by the magic of this wild place.
Sunrise Safari — Wildlife and Wonder in Chobe
The next morning started early with a sunrise safari. Another epic African sunrise painted the sky, followed by breakfast back at camp. But the most unforgettable moment came when a magnificent elephant wandered gently through our camp, my closest encounter yet. It’s an image that will stay with me forever.
Even our showers were special, beautifully constructed among the trees, where you could look up to the sky as the water poured over you. Simple, grounding, magical and with hot water!
Later that day, we headed out again and were treated to more unforgettable sightings: a leopard moving silently through the bush, hundreds of pelicans gathered along the water, and even lions with their cubs playing close by.
From Safari to Stillness — Journey to Munga Plains
Every moment felt alive with wonder, another reminder of how precious, wild and powerful this part of the world is.
As we left the wilds of Chobe National Park, we made our way towards Munga Plains our final destination for this Together we Breathe Wellbeing and Safari Retreat. The drive was almost silent, each of us reflecting on the last few days: the elephants, the hippos, the big cats, the vast African skies.
There was a shared sense of awe and transition from our busy lives back home to this deep immersion in nature, wildlife, and wellbeing here in Africa. The shift was undeniable.
Everyone was filled with excitement for what lay ahead: grounding practices in our beautiful shala at Munga Plains, time for movement, yoga and breathwork, nourishing food, and the stillness that allows space for connection and reflection.
This was the perfect moment to pause, absorb the richness of our safari experience in Botswana, and look forward to the next chapter of our retreat a chance to go deeper into wellbeing, restoration, and community.

From the Zambezi to Munga Plains: A Wellbeing & Safari Retreat in the Heart of Africa
From the Zambezi to Munga Plains: A Wellbeing & Safari Retreat in the Heart of Africa
"Group photo at Victoria Fall's with rainbows and smiles on Together we Breathe's Wellbeing and Safari Retreat."
I’m writing this from Munga Plains in Botswana, tucked away in the wild beauty of the African bush. This is the final stop on our Together we Breathe Wellbeing & Safari Retreat, and I’m still soaking in every moment.
This journey has taken us from Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park, and now here, to this peaceful eco-lodge where we’re spending our final days moving slowly, sharing meals under the stars, and connecting deeply with ourselves, each other, and the natural world.
Victoria Falls: Rainbows, Markets & River Magic
We began with two nights in Victoria Falls, exploring the iconic landmark known as “The Smoke That Thunders.” We were lucky enough to witness double rainbows, some of the brightest I’ve ever seen and I’m so curious to return in April 2026, when the Falls will be in full flow after the rainy season.
I also joined my first e-bike tour on a Bamba bike, cycling through the town, exploring local markets, and enjoying lunch along the Zambezi River a perfect way to ease into the pace of life here.
A Taste of Zimbabwe: Dusty Road Dining
Our evening at Dusty Road was a vibrant open-air celebration of local flavours and culture. This set-menu experience meant we tasted everything from aromatic curries to fresh grains and vibrant vegetables, and indulgent desserts.
The team supports the local children’s school, and we were treated to beautiful traditional singing at dinner. Their cookbook and craft store are well worth a visit if you’re in Victoria Falls.
Sunrise Yoga on the Zambezi River
One of the most magical moments: sunrise yoga on a boat, arranged with the help of Victoria Falls Yoga, our wellbeing facilitator in Zimbabwe. As the boat drifted gently along the river, the dawn sky turned pink and gold, and the enormous sun rose above the horizon while we moved, breathed, and found stillness together. Absolutely unforgettable, a true moment of awe! And there were ample elephants, hippos and other amazing animals along the way!
This journey has gifted us countless sunrises, sunsets, and even a lunar eclipse, nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. The sun has been a glorious, radiant pink unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
From Safari to Stillness: The Essence of This Retreat
This retreat is far more than a vacation it’s an immersive wellbeing and safari journey through Southern Africa, weaving adventure, restoration, and connection into a singular, soulful experience. More to come and the rest of Together we Breathe’s trip to Africa in my next blog.
Retreat Highlights:
Exploring Victoria Falls and sunrise yoga on the Zambezi River, with wild animals along the banks
Biking, market strolls, and riverside lunches with Bamba Bikes
1-night camping safari in Chobe National Park (more in my next post)
A grounding stay at Munga Plains eco-lodge (more to come in my upcoming posts)
Yoga, mindful movement and breathwork
Boat rides, wildlife encounters, and intentional presence

From Saunas to Soundtracks: Exploring Breath, Movement, Music & Community with Together we Breathe
A Week of Creativity, Connection, Wellbeing & Joy: with Kerry from Together we Breathe - African Retreats & Events in the UK
Welcome to my updates from Together we Breathe, where we explore Transformational Breathwork, yoga, mindfulness, and wellbeing experiences that bring people together in beautiful, intentional ways. This update is full of inspiration, connection, cold water therapy, breathwork events, and a few new discoveries I’m excited to share.
Sauna, Cold Plunge & Community in London
I’ve always loved cold water sea swimming (I grew up in Brighton, so it’s in my bones!). Living in South East London it’s a bit of a trek to the beach, I do the next best thing: sauna and cold plunge therapy.
One of my favourite local spots is the incredible Social Sauna Peckham. It’s a beautiful space with great music, friendly people, and such a warm, inclusive vibe. I also love Community Sauna London – they have pop-up saunas across London, including a beautiful setup in Burgess Park’s Community Garden. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for sauna experiences that promote community, connection, and wellbeing in London.
Cold plunge at Community Sauna Peckham
Soulful Weekend in Lewes
I spent a gorgeous weekend in Lewes with a close friend, reconnecting, soaking up the South Downs countryside, and enjoying that slower pace of life. We spent time chatting, laughing, eating and sharing, a true wellbeing recharge. While there, I visited Soulfit Studio Lewes, which has recently relocated in the heart of Lewes, for a morning of yoga and resistance-based training. Fiona and Gyles, my beautiful friends and the studio founders, have built such a welcoming, inclusive community. If you’re in Lewes, Brighton or Sussex, I highly recommend stopping by.
Music, Dancing and Day Raves
Music is such an important part of my life, and I’m sure it is for many of you too. I’m a loyal BBC 6 Music fan, love a bit of Huey on a Saturday afternoon and enjoying creating playlists for my yoga, mindful movement, and Transformational Breathwork sessions.
Music has helped me through the sticky chapters, and made the sweet moments even sweeter, filling life with joy, laughter, and so much fun.
I’ve been to a few brilliant Day raves lately, it’s the way forward. I’m becoming a regular at Our Time is Now at RISE, Goldsmith’s Student Union bar. The next one is on Saturday 19th July, with renowned DJ Dom Servini. I also recently saw Seb Fontaine at Gaudium, and I’m very much looking forward to more dancing and great music in a field at the next Spirit of Eden festival, where I will be leading a few mindful movement and breathwork sessions which will be fun!
Planning: Africa Wellbeing & Safari Retreat
Wellbeing, Yoga & Safari Retreat, Botswana, Chobe River Cruise
I’ve been preparing for our next Africa Wellbeing, Safari & Yoga Retreat in September 2025, April and September 2026. This retreat is a true adventure: yoga, breathwork, and connection surrounded by the wild beauty of Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls, and Botswana’s Chobe National Park.
If you’ve ever dreamed of practising yoga near the mighty falls, or meditating under African skies, this trip’s for you. I’ve had a few questions regarding the safari and being so close to the BIG 5. I felt incredibly safe and loved spending time with our local guides, and didn't feel anything other than pure excitement even during our close encounters with lions and their cubs, it was a mind-blowing experience. We only have a few places left for April 2026, the Early Bird discount finishes in a few days, so book your spot now if you’re interested in joining Erin and I on this magical retreat.

Corporate Wellbeing Events
I love curating and hosting wellbeing events for my clients, it’s always a joy to co-host events with my amazing network of guides, coaches and creatives. We always kick off our wellbeing talks and workshops with a mindfulness and grounding session. Last week’s event for The Crown Estate at One Heddon Street, I had the pleasure working again alongside the brilliant CJ, a hormone, fertility, and nutrition expert. CJ delivers accessible, honest, empowering talks, and I led a mindfulness and breathwork practice to help guests ground and reset before diving in.

Breathwork in Nunhead at Mica
I have loved covering Tuesday night’s Breathwork sessions at Mica in Nunhead. The focus is deep relaxation, breath
awareness, and space to slow down. We start with gentle mindful movement, then transition into breathwork and
a full-body relaxation, set to beautiful music. It’s an invitation to disconnect, listen inward, and feel into your body a rare but powerful reset. Hope to be back again soon!
Theatre & Art: Wiggy at Theatre Peckham + Alexis Chabala
Last week I saw Wiggy at Theatre Peckham with a young, bold cast challenging race and gender/relationship norms. It’s worth checking out what coming up at Theatre Packham, it’s affordable and a great venue for an evening with friends. I also want to spotlight Alexis Chabala, a photographer friend whose latest show opens this weekend on the Isle of Wight, featuring stunning portraits of Black creatives, absolutely worth the visit. Details on the exhibition at Quay Arts Gallery.
Creative Influence: Music & Shaman’s Breath
I met a brilliant musician (from the band IKE) who introduced me to the album Shaman's Breath, tribal, rhythmic,
perfect for breathwork and deep relaxation. I’ll be weaving this into future sessions. His music is well worth a listen, check out there new album, SIDDA.

Updates from Together we Breathe: Breath, Nature & Growth
Updates from Together we Breathe: Breath, Nature & Growth - African Retreats & Events in the UK
Welcome to this month’s updates from Together we Breathe a space where I share my personal stories, updates, inspirations and things I love and have discovered from my work, travels, experiences in yoga, breathwork, wellbeing and life!
As June begins, I’m reflecting on a beautiful mix of movement, nature, community, and exciting new beginnings. From wild foraging in Hackney Marshes to planning breathwork retreats in Africa, May was full of grounding moments,
big dreams, and heartfelt reflections.
Hackney Weekend: Foraging &
Half-Marathon Vibes
Foraging in Hackney Marshes with Herbivore & Fergus the Forager
Earlier last month, I spent a weekend in Hackney that included a fantastic foraging workshop in the marshes with Herbivore. Led by Fergus the Forager, it was an incredible day learning about wild plants and edible foods that grow in our urban
green spaces. I’m pretty sure I could sort of survive for 24 hours in a London park now! The day ended with delicious
foraged toppings for our pizzas, it was so good.
That same weekend, I watched friends run the Hackney Half Marathon. The atmosphere was beautiful, music, energy, collective spirit and genuine encouragement for everyone who took part. It brought back memories of watching the London Marathon and Olympics with my Dad. They always gave me goosebumps (and made him cry, he was such an emotional soul).
Totally inspired, I came home and impulsively signed up to run it next year. What was I thinking?! I’ll definitely be
running with my Dad in my heart the whole way.
Garden Days & A New Home
Edible Flowers on my favourite Hummingbird Bakery Red Velvet Cake
The rest of May was all about making the most of the sunshine, working from the garden, enjoying fresh air,
and creative time outdoors.
I’ll finally be moving into my new house next month! Trying to find time to pick wall colours (thinking lots of neutrals, as
well as pinks and greens), floors and a sofa. Excited, but also totally overwhelmed by how much there is to do and
where I'm going to put everything, time for an enormous sort out!
Also: I baked a pretty great birthday cake (with a little help!) for a friend’s party, it was such a fun night.
